MY JOURNEY

 

I lived the familiar tale of yo–yo diets and fuelling my body with sugar and caffeine to keep up with my stressful, busy life. My eating was chaotic to say the least, and this had a negative impact on my weight, body-image and mental health.   

However, it was the constant unwell, exhausted feeling, that spurred me to discover the power of nutrition and the benefits of a healthier balanced diet.  

With this knowledge, I was able to restore my own well-being and at the same time qualify as a Nutritional Therapist, giving me the opportunity to empower others to do the same.

I realised that simply knowing what to eat wasn’t always enough, and have committed to developing and applying behavioural change techniques in my clinic.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

 

I graduated from the internationally renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) with distinction, and received the award for the top performing student in my year.  Further qualifications include an honours degree in Psychology and qualifications in Counselling. I have also qualified as a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and Obesity at the National Centre for Eating Disorders. I am also currently studying an MSc in Health Psychology.

I am registered with the; 
o    British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) 
o    Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

I also work on various health and nutrition projects. I am a Director of the Centre of Excellence and consultant for the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and have also work with various charities.


MY APPROACH

 

The Eating Clinic is founded on the philosophy that a happy life, optimal health and wellness is about balance. I don't subscribe to restrictive eating regimes that are not sustainable. Food should be fun as well as nourishing, and it's surprising how small changes can have a big effect on how we feel. I want my clients to feel empowered to make changes to support their health, but also a sense of freedom from restriction.
