Meet Emma

Emma is the founder of The Eating Clinic, a virtual online clinic that uses a blend of nutrition and psychology to help transform people’s relationship with food and their body.

She is an experienced nutritional therapist, behaviour change expert and eating disorder practitioner. Emma is an experienced lecturer and mentor of practitioners working in this field. She has training in various psychological approaches including counselling skills, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Emma successfully uses a combined approach of nutritional, behavioural and psychological interventions to help restore clients’ relationship with food and their body.

  1. What will the programme involve?

    The course will be run online. Hourly sessions will be run weekly for five weeks with a small group. Sessions will be interactive and teach you new skills to apply to your life straight away. There will also be homework tasks in between sessions each week to deepen your learning and skills.

  2. I have an eating disorder… is this programme still for me?

    This course has not been designed to support people with a current eating disorder. If you have ever had an eating disorder, you must have permission from your physician (e.g., GP) to attend this course. If you would like to find out more about how The Eating Clinic may be able to help you with an eating disorder (through 1:1 support), please contact us here.

3. I am a healthcare practitioner, is this programme for me?

We welcome practitioners on this course if they have a personal difficulty with emotional eating. If you are a practitioner and are interested in training in the approaches used by The Eating Clinic, please contact us.

4. What is the weekly time commitment for the programme?

This course includes weekly 1 hour sessions. Homework tasks will take approximately 1 hour each week. The weekly commitment is 2 hours and a total of 10 hours over the whole programme.

5. I’m under 18, is this programme for me?

This programme has been designed for people over the age of 18 only. To get support for emotional eating visit the Eating Disorder charity BEAT or the National Centre of Eating Disorders.
